I spent MLK Day doin what I do and it was glorious!
If you are delicate move on.
Let's get this straight, I don't care what you think of me or what I'm doing. This blog is about crap that I like and crap that I'm doing. You don't have to look or read. Go somewhere else if things I say or do offend you. I like bikes, cars, naked women, and booze. Thats the content, you've been warned.

Lamont you big Dummy
So, no big work on the A-100. All I managed to do is pull apart the 318 and figure out its worth more as scrap than as a motor. Wonder what Fred Sanford would give me for it.

I'll have more as the week progresses. Friday I head down to GNRS, looking forward to that!

Pieces that Fit
So, after staring at the pics of my one piece window template, the whole time knowing something isn't right but, not being able to identify the issue, it hit me. If I use the shape I have the window will not go down. DUH! The forward track needs to be at the same angle as the aft track. Again DUH!
Saturday I'll be off work again and I'll rough in the track and get the shape right. Looks like I'll have to have a small filler panel in the front corner the get the window to go up and down. Apparently I'm not the only one doing this, Hi to you all at vannin.com. I lurk there but don't post. Need sleep now so...The End

A-100 Progress
With a nice three day holiday weekend and ridiculous weather, it was 65 today, I made some real progress on the van. The motor is out and I finished the one piece window template. Hopefully tomorrow I'll pull the windshield and then visit my buddy the glass guy. Here are the pics-
She used to have A/C
Radiators out
Now I need to source a new one, yuck.
The new shop dog, Cricket. She's not to sure about all the damn noise.
One of my pics to remind me how things go.
And it's out. Only took about 2 hours. Maybe faster with help.
So, now the motor is out I started my next project, one piece door glass. First I traced the front part using the wing window frame. Then I combined the two on a piece of OSB and traced out the one piece shape.
Then some trial fitting and shaving with a file I had a usable template.
I'll make a channel for the front of the glass once I get the template back. That will probably be the most difficult part. Not a lot of room for the welder.
Until next time, the end.

Dodge this..A100
So I've made very little progress on Rhonda the A100.
Christmas Day I jacked her up and pressure washed the undercarrige. Forgot to take pics...this should do though.
Today the windows came out so I can make the one piece glass templates.
Then rust repair will begin.
I have a three day weekend ahead and plan on pulling the motor and delivering the glass templates. I'll get new windshields, one piece door glass and replacements for the missing jalousie panes.
Once that's done I'll rebuild the front end and add the disc brakes. I already have the caliper mounts from scarebird. All of this will be documented here and maybe on vintage-vans.com, though I really hate to post on forums.
