If you are delicate move on.

Let's get this straight, I don't care what you think of me or what I'm doing. This blog is about crap that I like and crap that I'm doing. You don't have to look or read. Go somewhere else if things I say or do offend you. I like bikes, cars, naked women, and booze. Thats the content, you've been warned.

A100 Progress

I just realized I promised an update and I never delivered. So, here is what I did a couple weeks ago.

I finished the one piece windows enough to send the template to my buddy at the glass shop

I pulled out the heater assembly to help with cutting out the floor. Also, I anticipate putting in an A/C unit in its place

Then I started cutting out the floors. I of course ran out of time at this point and haven't touched it since. I'll square up the cuts then fab up some new pieces and weld them in. Once that is done I'll take care of the couple of rust areas on the roof than start hammering dents out.

I know its been a while...

Unlce Sam has had other plans for my time lately so no updates. I have done work on the A100 but haven't sat in front of a 'puter for fun in a while. I'll post a proper update in the next few days. The one piece window templates are done and that is good...more later.

I love the music of the Black Keys and when the new album came out I jumped on it like a fat kid on a loose skittle. I wasn't in love with it until now. It didn't grab me by the back of the neck like the earlier stuff from them. Instead it slides through your brain until you need it.

Lamont you big Dummy

So, no big work on the A-100. All I managed to do is pull apart the 318 and figure out its worth more as scrap than as a motor. Wonder what Fred Sanford would give me for it.

I spent MLK Day doin what I do and it was glorious!

I'll have more as the week progresses. Friday I head down to GNRS, looking forward to that! Here is a link to some of last years coverage- http://bombcitypress.blogspot.com/2011/02/show-coverage-gnrs-2011.html The End

Pieces that Fit

So, after staring at the pics of my one piece window template, the whole time knowing something isn't right but, not being able to identify the issue, it hit me. If I use the shape I have the window will not go down. DUH! The forward track needs to be at the same angle as the aft track. Again DUH!

Saturday I'll be off work again and I'll rough in the track and get the shape right. Looks like I'll have to have a small filler panel in the front corner the get the window to go up and down. Apparently I'm not the only one doing this, Hi to you all at vannin.com. I lurk there but don't post. Need sleep now so...The End

A-100 Progress

With a nice three day holiday weekend and ridiculous weather, it was 65 today, I made some real progress on the van. The motor is out and I finished the one piece window template. Hopefully tomorrow I'll pull the windshield and then visit my buddy the glass guy. Here are the pics-

She used to have A/C

Radiators out

Now I need to source a new one, yuck.

The new shop dog, Cricket. She's not to sure about all the damn noise.

One of my pics to remind me how things go.

And it's out. Only took about 2 hours. Maybe faster with help.

So, now the motor is out I started my next project, one piece door glass. First I traced the front part using the wing window frame. Then I combined the two on a piece of OSB and traced out the one piece shape.

Then some trial fitting and shaving with a file I had a usable template.

I'll make a channel for the front of the glass once I get the template back. That will probably be the most difficult part. Not a lot of room for the welder.

Until next time, the end.
